Australia's first eBay WorldMark rental

Aha! I knew it would happen eventually!

eBay auction #6535349219 is the 'sale' of a 'rental' at Kirra Beach during July.

It woould appear that the seller had a booking in Queensland that they no longer want, so they're selling the rights to that week. At an opening bid of $400 for 7 nights, this is good value for 'resort' accommodation, especially if it's during school holidays.

Let's see what happens!

APVC is yet another WorldMark

Hi Gang,

I got an Accor Premiere Vacation Club offer in the mail. Much the same as WorldMark, right down to getting a DVD player for attending the information session. Interestingly, I couldn't find trace of a second-hand market for memberships. Looks like it could be an even bigger mistake than buying WorldMark for full price (unless all the members love it so much that they don't sell!).

Lots of eBay action on WorldMark South Pacific memberships lately, but not much will sell...

eBay auction #6534449188 - 12,000 units for $10,320 plus 6000 available

eBay auction #6534659862 - 12,000 units for $16,250 plus 37,500 available
(Gee, they mustn't have used it for years!)

eBay auction #6534402592 - 6000 units for $7500 (take over loan)

eBay auction #6533816107 - 6000 units SOLD for $6,605 with 9,350 available (a bit of sniping at the end of that auction!)

Anyway, who needs a holiday now that there's Sudoku every day in the paper! :)

Ah! It looked too good to be true

I stumbled across eBay auction #6530998280 with a WMSP membership going for A$499. That looked too good to be true!

Alas, it was. In reading the fine print (on www.joinbig.com/shares), it appears that this payment only entitles the auction winner to take over $10,000+ in payments owing to Trendwest. Certainly no bargain there!

Then I found auction #5579171095 trying to sell 3000 credits at the full price of A$2.08/unit. Not only a silly price to pay, but I don't think you can own less than 6000 units!

The local redseason.com.au looks like it's going OK. Auction #6530588359 has a bid, and there are already two that successfully sold previously.

And, to round it out, #6529723978 has also got bids at $7,000.

Good going!
