Doubly lucky

One New Zealand reader is quite happy with their WorldMark experience...

YES, we went to a presentation ... in New Zealand. Minimum return was $70 department store vouchers, that's okay for 2 hours.

We joined. After paying off our credits in 10 years; we will have a further 70 years of holidays at very minimal cost (just the yearly maintenance amount). The credits can be willed to our children, and grand-children, etc. Or we can sell them ... but why would we want to?

In the meantime, we can enjoy a holiday in luxury (and they are usually 5 star apartments!) that we would not previously have been able to afford.

A bonus is when you put forward the name of someone to go to a seminar (be kind, ask them first!); our nominated friends hadn't actually attended.

BUT we WON a considerable amount of actual cash as a result of winning in a lucky draw (just for nominating them). Yes it happened, and we have spent the money to prove it!! ... We were flown to a fortnight in Aus in a mobile home (worth $2k), and also flown to Fiji where we stayed in a Wyndham Resort with a rental car for the whole fortnight (worth over $5k) ... but failed to spend the last $10.30 of our winnings! It was fun trying! The staff in the travel section (who booked everything for us) were also extremely helpful, either Kiwi or Aus for these countries ... and knowledgeable. Nothing was a problem. It was easier than buying a ticket in a lottery! (how often do you hear of lottery winners?)

If we attend a presentation with friends, we gain 1000 additional credits; we did this in Fiji, and our friends got over $200 value of dinner cruise, we got $100 value instantly (plus the credits to put to a future holiday ... maybe 3 or 4 nights mid-week?). So go figure ...

It's all about how to spend some money now (either up front, or by drip feed) to ensure you can holiday virtually forever.

And the people ... on the resort in Fiji the staff would be the friendliest of any we met on all of Denarau Island! Always a smile, and cheerful greeting. Look at the website and the pictures of the resorts. They aren't exaggerated. The views are breath-taking, the facilities are excellent, if you wanted to, you needn't leave the resort ... everything is brought to you (including food to your apartment).
According to the presentation (yes! but it came with freebies, and the drinkies evening had a minimum of 3 free wines each!) each resort is $1000 per unit per night. So if our party of 4 stayed there for a fortnight, it cost us way, way less than the advertised prices ... with friendly, like-minded guests.

Go in with your eyes open, be prepared to invest some time and to LEARN how best to get value for your money.

Roll on next holiday!
